For this Training Thursday post, we spotlight Frances Strickler, who spent five weeks in late 2020 completing an online training in Yoga for Arthritis!
This program was taught by Dr. Steffany Moonaz through Yogaville in Virginia. It was developed through a collaboration of experts in the Johns Hopkins Arthritis Center. It was also used in clinical research trials to determine safety and efficacy for arthritis patients to reduce pain and disability and to take control of the impact arthritis has on their lives.
Frances noted three specific takeaways from the training: “16 class sequences with modifications for many asanas used in the 8-week program offered at Johns Hopkins,” “information about mental training,” and “detailed discussion of slowing harmful effects of stress and inflammation through the use of yoga.”
Congratulations to Frances on completing this 34-hour training—in our future classes together, we look forward to benefitting from what you learned!
