November begins the day after Halloween. According to Britannica the name Halloween evolved from All Hallow’s Eve – the evening before All Saints’ Day. Other cultures also have days around this time of year commemorating the dead, with Mexico also celebrating the Dia de los Muertos (the day of the dead) on no. As we move to the end of November we celebrate Thanksgiving, shifting the focus from remembering people from the past to being grateful for what we have, often marked by sharing food with family and friends.
Our November schedule offers daily yoga classes in a variety of yoga styles, including Basics, Flow, Gentle, Basics/ Restorative, and Yoga Nidra. We also invite the community to join us for our book club meeting on November 15 and for a Holiday class on Thanksgiving morning. We would love to see you in November whether it is for yoga, the book club, or both! Everyone is always welcome!
Please notice: the start time for both evening classes has changed.
November updates/ upcoming events:
- Monday evening classes: We are pleased to continue the Monday evening flow class. Starting in November, join Liz at 5:00 pm for a more vigorous practice in her Flow class.
- Wednesday evening classes: We are pleased to continue the Wednesday evening Basics/Restorative class. Starting in November, join Maria at 5:30 pm for a mix of movement and meditation with Basics/ Restorative on Wednesdays.
- November book club meeting: Join us on Sunday, November 15 at 1:30 p.m. for our quarterly book club meeting in the 4yoga yoga studio. We will discuss HOW TO NOT KNOW – The Value of Uncertainty in a World that Demands Answers by Simone Stolzhoff. Our book club is a free community event and always welcomes new members. We are happy to see folks whether they practice yoga with us or not. If you have an interest in November’s topic, grab the book, read as much as you want, and come for our chat. For those who prefer borrowing to buying, check out one of the copies available from the Warren County Public Library. Please see the Facebook event page for more details and know that an RSVP helps us plan.
- Donation class to benefit Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society: On Monday, November 16 at 9 am, Angie will offer this month’s donation class. Our donation classes serve our community by providing an option to take a class for free if you need and by supporting a local non-profit organization with 100% of the donations made. This month Angie selected BGWCHS to receive donations.
- Sunday Yoga Nidra with Angie: We are pleased to continue offering an in-person Yoga Nidra class in November. Join Angie on Sunday, November 22 at 5:30 p.m. and spend 60 minutes being guided into a deeply relaxed state.
- Holiday class with Cheri: Start Thanksgiving day with yoga! Join Cheri for a mixed-level Holiday class on Thursday, November 26 at 9 am.
If you have questions about or feedback on our offerings, just drop Angie, Maria, or Uta an email (4yoga.me@gmail.com) or Facebook message or catch up with one of us at a post-class gathering. And, as always, for a full copy of the month’s schedule and descriptions of our class styles, please see the calendar page or pick up a hard copy at the studio.
