Summer is in full swing, inviting us to relax and enjoy the longer days and warmer temperatures. In fact, August 15 is National Relaxation Day in the US, reminding us to slow down, take a break, and perhaps continue to make time to relax the other 364 days of the year!
We are happy to continue to offer daily classes in August – and for more than half the weekdays, there will be two different classes on the schedule! Join us for some or many of the 45 classes in August, in a variety of styles, including Basics, Flow, Gentle, Basics/Restorative, or Yoga Nidra.
August updates/ upcoming events:
- Monday Flow classes: We are pleased to continue the Monday evening 6 p. m. Flow class, offering an evening class option to complement the Wednesday morning Flow classes.
- Thursday classes: Cheri is back from her travels and will teach Gentle every Thursday in August at 9 a.m.
- Wednesday Basics/Restorative classes with Maria: We are pleased to introduce a new Wednesday evening 6 p.m. class called “Basics/Restorative”, partially to respond to recent inquiries about restorative yoga. The class combines 40 minutes of Basics yoga with 30 minutes of Restorative yoga.
- August book club meeting: Join us on Sunday, August 9 at 1:30 p.m. for our quarterly book club meeting, where we will discuss THE CHOICE: EMBRACE THE POSSIBLE, a memoir by Dr. Edith Eva Eger. Our book club is a free community event and always welcomes new members. We are happy to see folks whether they practice yoga with us or not. If you have an interest in August’s topic, grab the book, read as much as you want, and come for our chat. For those who prefer borrowing to buying, check out one of the copies available from the Warren County Public Library. Please see the Facebook event page for more details and know that an RSVP helps us plan
- Sunday Yoga Nidra with Shigeko: We are pleased to continue offering an in-person Yoga Nidra class in August. Join Shigeko on Sunday, August 23 at 5:30 p.m. and spend 60 minutes being guided into a deeply relaxed state. Come early to join Cheri’s 4 p.m. Basics class – creating your own ‘Move & Relax’ package.
- Donation Class to benefit Kids on the Block: On Saturday, August 29, at 9 a.m. Shigeko will offer this month’s donation class. Our donation classes serve our community by providing an option to take a class for free if you need and by supporting a local non-profit organization with 100% of the donations made. This month Shigeko selected Kids on the block to receive the donations.
- Beginner Yoga Class: Are you new to yoga or looking to return to your yoga practice? Join Maria on August 30 at 1:30 p.m. for a 90 minute beginner yoga class. In order to provide more individualized instruction, this class is pre-registration only and limited to 5 students. To reserve your spot, fill out this form and follow the payment instructions listed. All students must pre-register and pre-pay ($20 per person) no later than Sat., August 29 at 1:30 p.m.
If you have questions about or feedback on our offerings, just drop Angie, Maria, or Uta an email (4yoga.me@gmail.com) or Facebook message or catch up with one of us at a post-class gathering. And, as always, for a full copy of the month’s schedule and descriptions of our class styles, please see the calendar page or pick up a hard copy at the studio.
